You can think of me as your own personal cheerleader-meets-vocal-coach-meets-songwriting-coach. I believe we all have the right to be creative, to follow our passions and the things that bring us joy. If that’s singing/making music for you then I’m glad you’re here.
I love coaching, especially on those days when a student of mine has a breakthrough. It brings me such joy to see you shine, to encourage you to get out of your own way and let yourself be ‘bad’ at something (hint, that’s the only way to get ‘good’ at something).
I don’t pretend to have this self-confidence thing all figured out, but I’ve given it a pretty good go, and everything I’ve learnt along this road to believing in myself and my music dreams is something I want to pass on.
Whether that dream for you is anything like this...
"I wish I could sing when there are people in the house and not feel embarrassed"
"There's this song I've always wanted to sing, but I don't know where to start"
"I want to go on tour and not feel worried that I'm going to hurt my voice"
I've worked with kids as young as 4, right up to adults in their 80s. I've worked with complete beginners right up to professional, touring musicians and teachers. Singing is such a wonderfully expressive thing, an incredibly natural thing and is available to all of us.
Music was always a big part of my childhood, and in 2007, aged 18, I joined my first indie/rock band alongside a performing arts National Diploma, specialising in acting, where I also studied dance and musical theatre. Most lunchtimes I would find myself down in the basement with the musicians or in a practise room alone at a piano, making up songs and even though I only had a tiny glimmer of confidence at that point in time, I just knew this path was meant for me.

Stepping into my own songwriting journey was incredibly empowering. My latest project, under my name this time, feels truly authentic to me. I feel in charge of it and I feel so proud of the self-released debut single 'The New Rebellion' (Nov 2022), which reached radios worldwide and had press features locally, nationally and internationally and hit 3400+ streams on Spotify. My latest release The Siren's Song has also gained airplay and playlist spots around the globe and is a sing-along track whenever I play live.
I’ve never found it easy to label my music with genre. The idea of genre is for record labels and PR companies, but I’m inspired by Celtic music, rock, indie-folk, folk, ballads, alt country, Americana, indie soul, soul, jazz, Baroque pop, pop, adult contemporary, singer-songwriter styles. My favourite artists are Amanda Palmer, Patti Smith, Stevie Nicks, Amy Winehouse, Florence and the Machine... to name a few.
I work with a wonderful producer Ed Martin and I'm so excited for what's to come with the project. You can listen to it on any streaming platform here, but I recommend Bandcamp. You can find my music webpage here with links to all my artist socials, my favourite place to post is on my Patreon and to my mailing list, where no PAPA ALGOR (the algorithm) is present. Algorithms stifle so much creativity.
